Common Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

When does the application window open?
Applications for the following academic year open each January and close in late March. We recommend applying as early as possible as spaces fill quickly, particularly at Form I entry level.
Are boarding facilities available?
Yes. Zingibari Secondary School has separate boarding dormitories for boys and girls. Boarding students receive three meals a day and are supervised by resident housemasters. Boarding is optional but strongly recommended for students from outside Tanga Municipality.
What CSEE grade is required for Form V entry?
Students applying for Form V (A-Level) must have achieved Division I, II, or III in CSEE. Subject combinations must be declared at application and are subject to availability. Strong performance in the proposed A-Level subjects at O-Level is required.
Are there scholarships or bursaries available?
A limited number of need-based bursaries are available each year through our School Development Fund. Students from low-income households who demonstrate exceptional academic ability are encouraged to apply. Please contact the Headmaster's office for details.
Can students transfer mid-year?
Mid-year transfers are considered on a case-by-case basis, subject to space availability in the relevant form. A transfer letter from the previous school, academic transcripts, and a meeting with the Head of Academics are required.
